I agree for the most part. But I saw the entire thing unfold over the course of a couple miles. The girls in the green car were not paying attention. They were too busy rocking out and starting and looking at me. Because of that they didn't see traffic stop...the slammed on their brakes at the last minute causing a chain reaction of locked brakes until the distances between cars became SMASH.

generally I would say..you slam someon you weren't paying attention. But I think all of us have had times were we nearly nailed someone even though we had proper following distances because the people in front of you were tail gating or just not paying attention and slammed on their brakes.

Plus they were bastards and just left. They didn't care if their "friend" was ok or had a way home. They just left them there.

It was clearly the girls fault but regardless the guy did rearend them and will most likely being paying out. I'll be leaving a message with his insurance company tonight and calling them again tomorrow.

bah..you told me I'd get nailed for that plate...lol. Least it was a parking ticket and not an inpounding or something.....haa.

I'm still gonna fight it purely on the basis of it being truly petty and parking is a massive pet peave of mine....I can't stand people that can't park...give them tickets damn it..haaa.

yeah I'm stoked the dog is ok. He jumped pretty good when it happened but he's pretty mellow and handled it well.

And hopefully I'll hear some good news back soon I'm starting to stress...two messages no word back yet.

Update:

well the adjuster came a few minutes ago.

Sounded like good news. Nice guy.

He said that he would send out his estimate and a check to me asap. He said his estimate is closer to $3000. So we'll see how much I get. As long as it cover painting my car and replaceing the window it's all good.

oh...and thanks to you guys and a few others I'm going to California Kustoms.

Your luck must be going around. I was in a wreck myself over the weekend. I'm not sure if the car will be totalled or not. I was cut off on the freeway, and slammed into the side wall. My rear suspension has a couple bruises. I only recieved cosmetic damage on the right side of my car. The impact wasn't severe enough to deploy the airbags, so hopefully my suspensions not too bent out of shape! To the starter of the thread, GLAD you're ok

I have been under a lot of stress lately. Knee surgery next week. Car. Strike next week. Bills. No money. Etc. I nearly lost it on someone the other day.

Just a run of really stupid people and 2 people in particular.
Tons of traffic. 101 on the way to SF status. Dude in a truck riding behind me on my butt. I see him drop into the lane next to me then do the predictable. Swoops in right in front of me where the honda civic sized gap was. Thus making me hammer the brakes and nearly get rear ended.

Next one. I'm drivind down the freeway. Cruising a good 70ish. Still traffic but it's flowing. I am actually to close to the person in front of me and I see it coming...lady in the next lane over just mergest INTO my front end. I'm not talking cut me off. I'm talking she would have nailed me if I didn't see it coming. No blinker. No nothing. And she saw me there. I honked like crazy and she didn't waver at all. I never honk. I got so pissed I jumped right on her. After a while I road up next to them looked at her big *** boyfriend in the passanger seat and called them out. Then proceeded to return the favor. I am a pretty level headed guy. But all this stress and seriously a huge string of really stupid drivers lately I nearly lossed it. If they had stopped I would have beat the tar out of that guy and let my girl friend beat the tar out of the lady. It was all bad. Nice guy turned ugly I guess you could say.

I really need to get this dang surgery figured out and get a break. I'm loosing my damn mind.

bro, for all its worth to you i will be praying for a succesfull surgery on your knee. i feel like a friggin fortune cookie, but you have to cross the valleys to get to the peaks.

on a practical note, you ever go to the gym / running / etc..? that helps with relieving stress. doing bicep curls is akin to my punching bag

yeah I need to get back in the gym. I have a membership..nobody to work out with.

I started going last year...got really sick. Started going. Got hospitalized. Stopped going. Started again. Snowboarding season started....lost about 25 pounds in all this. I didn't go as often..snowboaring 2/3 days a week can wear you out.....haaa. then bam..the knee. No working out since. gained back most of the dang weight. I recently started hitting the pool to get a little cardio.

When I'm back on my feet I'll be at the gym more and doing PT so that will be good and hopefully swimming more and more. This knee thing was kind of a wake up to drop some pounds too. I don't think I would have hurt it snowboarding if I wasn't packing a keg.

Thanks for the prayers. I'll need all I can get. I'm pretty freaked out. Snowboarding is my life and being able to do whatever I want...MTB, snowboard, softball...etc...that's more important to me than just about anything.

I may be getting a second opinion this week from a sports specialist so we'll see. But as of now my surgery is 1pm on wed the 12th.....

so you guys won't be seeing me at UCKK for a while.

well hey.....I got some good news.....seems that way anyways.

I got a second opinion from a specialist in Santa Cruz. In not so many words he couldn't understand why I was getting surgery.

Basically said the injuries all apeared to be old and it seemed like my pain was coming from ripping the scar tissue and first degree strains on the ACL and MCL.

That made perfect sense. In high school I took a helmet to the knee playing safety and blew my knee up good. I should of gotten surgery the (torn acl, partial tears to the ACL/PCL) but I wanted to play in the home coming came so I didn't. Intelligent, eh? haaa.

So yeah. He's gonna put me on a PT program. Get me to strengthen my legs and loose some weight. If that doesn't work then he'll go in to break up the scar tissue, promote healing of the MCL and clean it up in there. He actually said he was more worried about my shoulder than my knee...go figure.

So that's the deal. I'll see you guys at UCKK. I'll still be limping and am still in much pain but my spirits are up. Now if I don't go on strike I'll be buying those wheels I "need" and possibly a 53 cadillac.

so in short. I'm not totally out of the woods. Surgery is still an option in the future...possibly two surgeries including the shoulder. But for now. It's all good. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for your concern and to those that have sent me personal messages. You have no idea how much that ment to me. You are great people and if you ever need help from me just drop a line.
