I JUST tried this today with my iPod and IMO the sound quality sucks. I had the iPod turned to 1/2 volume and then set my deck at 10. You can hear the hissing sound that tapes make while they are playing and it took away all my bass and highs. After that I played a CD and it sounded 100% better. I'm probably gonna return the tape deck adaptor today.

so it works pretty good? i read some reviews that said it was hard to browse between artists/playlists. like it was too slow or something.

my friend has one and I think once you start playing a playlist, in order to play a different list you need to unplug/plug it back in.
... at least that's what he did everytime he played a new playlist!

FM modulators pretty much suck for quality. Better than listening to the radio I guess. A lot of aftermarket decks have a stereo aux jack.
