Pretty happy with how I did, but would be happier if I had managed to NOT hit that cone on the 2nd run.....would have meant my first ever SFR SCCA Top 20 PAX if I had been about 2" further away from that dang slalom cone

Woohooo, Ed and Leo. You guys showed them who the "bosses" are.
Yeah, like Judd said, looking good on the G4's.
Congrats to Judd too for just about cementing 1st place trophy.
Matt, we missed you last Sunday. Nice to see Gagan back.

I'm getting closer on the G4s, but still need more camber up front.....have a couple of things working that should cure that. I did however get the shock settings a lot closer than last event on them....
I'll tell y'all though what I think was the "secret" to that course (not to mention, many GGF courses) : drive REAL conservative. The first run, I had a passenger who had NEVER been in an autocross car before! I concentrated more on being smooth and on-line that run instead of "attacking" the course so I wouldn't scare her
. And at GGF, since getting off-line is such a penalty (gravel = NO grip), staying on line (which you're more likely to do when smooth) is really key.
Second run I got a LITTLE more aggressive, but not much. And it'd been a really good run if not for that danged cone
.
Third run I started getting TOO aggressive, which meant getting off-line = screwed when at Gravel Gate

That surface fooled me. When we walked the course, it felt smoother than the last time I was there. And also looked clean. Pushing it was not the way to go,specially on my last run. I was out of line in a few areas and my entry into one of the slaloms was off.
