Automobile Mag. = PATHETIC!
I swear, Automobile magazine is a disgrace to the auto magazine business. I'm sure someone has already posted over here that in their Under $30,000 car test they rated the WRX as a 14.8 in the 1/4 mile!
They also made room for the EVO in this category and not the STI! It's so frustrating, when people test cars the wrong way, Im guessing they floored it from a 2000 launch instead of 5000, because their 0-60 was some ungodly horrible number like 6.2!
Also, my friend was trying to tell me that the new BMW M3 wasnt much faster than the 350Z. When I asked where he got this outrageous information, YOU GUESSED IT , Automobile magazine!
Oh well, I'll stop my little flame war, but it just makes me mad when the more respectable Car and Driver rates the Rex actually faster than the SRT-4 at 14.1, and then another magazine who doesn't know what their doing rates the WRX much slower.

who gives a flying F auto mags think...
an example, both FOUR WHEELER and 4 WHEEL & OFF ROAD mags named the 2004 4runner/lexus GX as their 4 wheeler of the year.
meanwhile, jeep released the wrangler RUBICON edition, which even me, a die hard toyota truck guy, thought it would a shoe-in as the winner.
it was a joke. the mags praised how well the ride of the toyota/lexus was... it was nuts...
look, take it as a blessing. now, when rich mommie and daddie reads these mags, they buy little biff and muffy an evo instead. they can crash that as much as they want...

Dang you guys, if you read it again you'll notice I was trying to make the point that including the EVO in the same category as the WRX, isnt really fair.
It's all good though.

When the category is "under $30k" they are. And more importantly, the Evo is the closest competition for the WRX, even if it isn't really fair. Remember the WRX vs. 325xi vs. A4 quattro comparo?
