Oh but it is, I have been to 2 events there and I will never go back. Not worth the long trip from the North Bay. If it was the only place to go and I lived within 30min then I guess it would be OK.............

CSC events in March at the Stockton Fairgrounds, click on the "JOIN US" and get details on how to be a member....

Dont have to be a member for cscc auto-x's. They design really good courses too But they are stuck at stockton with Sac SCAA as well cause everyone here in sac kicked us out They are really cool and encourage everyone to come out to race, plus CSCC events have far fewer participants (usually 5-6 runs PLUS fun runs! and a total of around 70-90 cars usually)

I think American Auto-x is still operating down in Atwater...

But I think the Reno Auto-x's are definatly worth it. They use an airfield with excellent pavement and plenty of room for long runs. Sure, its a drive, but its good stuff and 5-6 runs as well with minimal total numbers of cars.

You almost make it sound worth the 5 hour drive.

The last time I checked the NASA organizers were just burned out on Marina and autocrossing in general. These people still setup and run Denaza, and could be persuaded to run NASA events if someone would be willing to step up to the plate and run the show. At least that is what they told me last year.

FYI : DeAnza won't be happening this year. The college put up a bazillion (ok, not THAT many, but enough ) concrete parking stops in that lot.

Chris : I'll just say that isn't the full story on NASA and leave it at that

Kostamojen : I'm sure the Reno events are really nice. Just that there had better be a LOT of promise in the event for me to drive 600 miles roundtrip for it . That said, I wouldn't blame the Reno crowd one bit if they felt the same about heading down to the Bay Area.....

For me it has been almost 20 years of SCCA and counting to date and there must be a better club is my point. Break it down and enjoy more laps and not fall into the dreaded 2 runs ever again and a$$wipe power hungry rude folks that organize/chair some events. (I was never one of the rude guys ..lol)......

we can handle the rest.... [/B]
You were always the nice one Gino! hehehe

I'd have a hard time justifying that myself, but I will say this- I gladly drive 2.5 hours one way to Reno to compete rather than 1 hour one way to go to SF or Oakland. Reno SCCA is a smaller group of people, most know each other, the Stead site is awesome... I just can't see an autocross event being better than the ones up there. I'd suggest you guys try to make it up once or twice this year to check it out and make a weekend of it. Reno SCCA events are2 day affairs (seperate scoring and different course layouts for each day) but there are some other reasons for going up there on a Friday and Saturday night. Check out renoscca.com for the SCCA info, and go to www.seccs.org to talk to the i-Club members who compete in Subarus up there.
