Auto-X: SFR Slush 1 - Oakland - 10-05-08
Yeah, thanks for looking into it. I've recruited a bunch of first-timers from work to come race this weekend, but forcing people to buy an annual license will be a deal breaker for some.
BTW, do annual SCCA licenses run 1 year from purchase, or do they expire on 12/31 regardless? I race bikes and cycling licenses always expire 12/31, which is a ripoff if you only race late season.

I was checking out the SCCA site and the Sunday event in Oakland expressly states: SCCA Members Only (you MUST show a valid membership card); Memberships NOT avaliable on site. (http://www.sfrscca.org/solo2/Results...nd01_info.html)
So what's the dealio? I was hoping to get a weekend pass and put that $15 toward an annual if I like the event, as Darkonion recommended, but the SCCA site isn't agreeing with that philosophy too well.

This will be my first SCCA event and I need a hand figuring out in which class to run. I had always assumed STX, but in reading the allowed mods, now I don't think so.
I have an 05 WRX wagon with STi up-pipe, catted Helix DP, EVO II catback and a tuned ECU. STX only allows exhaust mods after the factory cats. Also, I'm running 225s on 17x8" rims and STX is capped at 7.5" width. My suspension mods don't seem relevant to the rules (no ALK). Does that put me into E Street Prepared? Why does this sound like a Bruce Springsteen concert?
What do you guys run?
EDIT: nevermind, bum link and old info. Section 14.12 of this PDF (http://www.scca.org/documents/Solo%2...lo_Rules_2.pdf) has the updated STX rules and it now includes 8" rims and hi flow aftermarket cats.

ABS Issue/ice mode : had it a few times on my old 02 WRX. Basically it does into ice mode, where the ABS come on but has far too little duty cycle (i.e. for available traction, say the brakes could be engaged 75% of the time for max braking...the ABS computer would have them engaged only 25% of the time). Net result : car stops really badly, run is definitely toast.
Should be there in the Integra, and might be bringing the taxicab out for some afternoon fun runs
