Auto-X: SFR Round 15 - Golden Gate Fields - 08-17-07
Hey Andy no problem! Wish you woulda come to STU earlier. Looks like next year STU should be fun. Too bad I already bought a turbo, intercooler, and soon tires (295's??)
Hahah my dad and I tried that formula v stuff on an old set of hoosier A3SO3's and it made them softer......for like a run and that's it haha. Maybe we didn't let the stuff sit long enough or something. My re01r's are past the point where that stuff would have an effect though (really no tread left, at least on 2 of them)
What happened to your car?

The car wasn't pulling very hard at the higher rpms and it seemed like it was getting worse, so I brought it to a shop today to do a leakdown test. The results were not good. Two cylinders had pretty bad numbers. So the motor is coming out for what is possibly an expensive rebuild. I'll be broke for a while, but hopefully I can get the car up and running again soon. Oh well. $hit happens i guess.
Street touring is a good class...once the car is setup, i think it is probably the cheapest class to run in and still be moderately competitive, I plan to stay there indefinitely and just work on my driving...plus SP is waaaayyyyy too scary fast for me.

Oh man that sucks didn't you just get the car too? If you have to rebuild I would take the opportunity to upgrade pistons. The block is pretty sturdy but the pistons tend to be the weak point of the motor. Not ST legal though unfortunately
That route is a money pit. I plan to keep the car around stock power level and play in ST, the stock pistons should be more than strong enough. I've done the "2 sets of tires" thing before and I hated it. I'm just not "hardcore" enough. =)
