Ive put a new diff into my 1990 miata which class would i fall under now? I think i used to be in sts2 or something i cant remember. Ive got tein coilovers, 205 tires, front sway as well.

 

I don't know my classing that well, but I think for STS2, your coilovers, tires, and front sway bar is okay. Not sure about the diff though.

 

Is it a oem diff? If so you're still in STS2. Taken from the 08 rulebook: "Further, as in STS, only original equipment viscous limited-slip differentials are legal in STS2."

Miata diff : if it is the stock VISCOUS type it is still STS2 legal. If it is NOT a viscous type (i.e. a Torsen...which is the OEM limited slip on all 94+ Miatas) then you are in CSP.

STX : 2.0L WRX goes there. 2.5L WRX goes to STU. A motor-swapped 02-05 WRX (that is otherwise STU legal) cannot run in STU, since no motor swaps allowed in STU. That said, if you talk to ALL of the local STU competitors they might allow you to run there anyways on a "Gentleman's agreement" for local stuff.

Weekend Membership/Guests : expect some more info later this week (after our Steering Committee Meeting). What is a boondoggle?

 

"Boondoggle" is a name that was given to the first event quite a few years back (1999?). This is because it is always a BIG turnout, and can seem like a Boondoggle (aka clusterf*** ) sometimes to the event organizer end of things...
