Auto transport companies??

Hey,

Anyone know of a good auto transport company? Looking for a reputable company to ship my wrx from cali to washington. Tried one online and so far they haven't made arrangements to pickup my car. Anyway, I appreciate any feedback.

Have you thought about driving it up there and flying home? You could have that done in one day for about $150 in gas and a $79 flight.

It's a different scenario. I am moving, actually have moved. I hired a moving company for my house. I hauled my wifes car on a trailer with my pickup. My wrx is still there and I'm here. Really don't want to drive back there to pick it up, but will if I have no other choice. The amount that it costs me to drive my truck plus a hotel is more than most quotes I have gotten. Just looking for peoples personal experiences with transport companies if anyone has one.

Thanks,
Derek

You could always pay for my flight, gas, food and some dough and I'll go get it and bring it down. I've made that drive a bunch of times.

as for auto shipping companies... there are TONS of them and they're all gonna be about the same if you're doing open air shipping.

Dammit Ray, I would have given you that dp if I'd have known that I'd run into this problem and you'd actually be willing to drive my stupid car down here. I bet I have made that drive 50 times in the last 16 years, but am really starting to hate it. I'll probably just come pick it up weekend after next, just not looking forward to it with all the crap I have going on right now.

yeah I know... I take it the birth went well?

I would have done it for the dp. LOL.

Yeah I used to drive up there at least annually. I've got family in Washington and in Redding and my brother used to work at a dock in Lake Trinity. So I've made the tip of norcal trip a bunch. Oregon and washington probably 8 times.

Yeah, baby is 8 days old now. Went a lot better than the first one. Had a healthy little girl. Really enjoying getting to know her.

We stayed the night in Redding on our way out, movers didn't finish up till 6pm or so in Fairfield. Was a long couple days. Hoping to find a house to move into tomorrow, that will be a big relief in stress.

Matt, tell what you'd charge. Are you able to pull it on a trailer? I could possibly meet you part way. Gas, hotel, and some cash on me. I'm starting a new job monday here, free on fri, sat, & sun.

Thanks man,
Derek

I've shipped 2 cars to Hawai'i and back with Horizon Lines. Absolutely no complaints.

I used this to ship a 1996 Toyota Camry from San Francisco to Miami. It cost about 1,000 dollars. It was open air shipping. I think they do door to door, but I went with terminal to terminal to save on some money. I dropped the car off at their Livermore terminal and went with my mom. Once I went there, just parked the car, signed the papers, and they did a really thorough check of the car. Had my mom drive me back home. When I went to pick up the car, luckily the terminal was close to an enterprise which was where I rented the car. I dropped the rental car off and walked to the terminal and picked up the car. They took like 8-9 days to get there, I don't quite remember how long it took them. But yeah they were good, no problems at all. Not sure how much or if there is a terminal close to you up there though.
