Audio/Video folks, need help with TV!

My LG TV, which sits on my desk and is used infrequently as an external computer monitor (mainly because there is no cable in my room) decided to not turn on today! I came home and the little red power status light was blinking red at a pretty quick pace. The TV is probably about 2.5 or 3 years old. Any advice on what to try to do to fix it? I do not know the exact model number, sorry.

that's not really a stupid question.. I had a monitor go out years back and when I unplugged it and plugged it back in it worked.

I see no reset button, but I'm going to see if there is a reset method for the LG's

Yes I unplugged it and plugged it back in. I unplugged it and waited about 20 minutes and plugged it back in. No luck. It and my amp use the same generic three prong cords, I'm going to try swapping them out. When I moved I looked at both of them and there was no indication of them being different.

I'm actually going to be out of town for a week, so I'm going to leave it unplugged the entire time and see what happens. I'm guessing an issue with the power board? Second worse case scenario it has to be replaced ($115 part, not sure how much labor will be). WORST case scenario, I'm out a TV I don't use that much anymore.

Matt,

Sorry I didn't get back to you on the other issue. Just hit me up when you get back. I should be settled by then and have more time.

U could probably get a new one for not much more than it'll take to fix it...

Im thinking power supply.

Call around and see what it would cost to repair. If it is 32" or smaller, you can likely pick up a new one for $300 or less.
