Audio advice

O.k..

So I'm over this stupid Pioneer Avic 700bt reboot issue. They want you to spend the money to ship it to them, $70 to open it up and then $400 to replace their crappy board. So I'm gonna pay $500 to fix a deck that pretty much never worked correctly... riiiiight!!!!

So I need advice on a simple replacement deck. I'd like to keep it double did but I don't need dvd or navi. All I really want is good sound, double din and ipod connection.

Should have put my alpine stuff back in.

Someone needs to file a class action against Pioneer for the complete lack of product support. It is obviously an issue with their equipment.

are you out of warranty?

have you check car audio related boards?

yeah, it kinda sucks for them you make you pay for their mistake.

btw, what's the issue with the board?

Yes and yes.

Don't know if anything major is wrong with it. Might just be software. Just going off what I've read.

Where did you buy the product? If it's a retailer they should be able to ship it out for you for a proper repair estimate

Anything I suggest would be Pioneer. I have never had a problem with them, the UI is one of the best out there, and they don't look super cheesy. If all you want is Double DIN and iPod connectivity, I would suggest the FH-P8000BT, Amazon has 6 used starting at $224.99

Tried a software update from pioneer. Screen went red and locked up. I want to try the testmide file delete but can't find testmide and don't have an SD reader.

Any of Pioneer's AV Models

If you don't need NAV, it limits your options quite a bit. The price jump is steep, and it only gives you more Pioneers and 1 Alpine really.

Pioneer FH-8000BT is what I've had since it came out, same unit, 2 successive cars, no issues.
