What's up Jeff. Ray is working like a mad man. They are slave drivers at his new job. No free time to post up. And his computer at home took a **** and they have a really slow connection. I talked to him last weekend.

just for old time sake.......

an update!!!!

ok...so I moved to Watsonville. Quit my job of over 7 years....took a $20,000 a year pay cut to work with small design firm.

Well this friday they let me go. Wonderful eh!!!

Yeah they told me I had 3 months to get up to speed and proceeded to dump their biggest client on my lap along with TONS of other stuff. Don't give deadlines then ***** when it's not done fast enough. On top of that I was on an old as computer and an even older monitor that was screwed up for the first two weeks. During the second week my harddrive crashed....basically was dying the whole time I was there.

Then when you design something they say...oh that's really nice but it's not in the style we usually do. So do it like this. Then wonder why I have twice as much time as I should have in on the project.

Funny how when they hired me the told me they did it cause they liked my style and wanted to offer something new.

Shoot on of my projects was for a landscape firm. Guy has used the same color green for his company since college...like 25 years. Well he went with my color of green and my entire package of completely different style designs...hmmmm.

boss was a ***** on top of that. We got into it over this one project for SGI....oh man. I'm done with it and waiting on a logo. I ask her for like 3 days about this logo. Then ask her to come take a look at what they gave me and show me what she wants to do with it.......she doesn't. Next day she does and it's an easy fix. She flips out on me. I'm like....why are you mad. I've been asking about this for 3 days. She just gets angrier and angrier and is just screaming at me at the top of her lungs and then tells me to send her the files and she'll fix them. I pretty much said **** you I'll do it myself and did it in 5 minutes. Finished the conversation by saying..hey..this would have been done 3 days ago if you had paid attention. She got pished...turned beat red...I thought I was fired right there...but **** it. I didn't like her and she was wrong...I dont' back down...ask anyone.

then she yelled at me because I had coffee in my trash...the guy took the trash out and spilled my coffee on the carpet. She yelled at me and embarassed me in front of the whole office. The other new girl ran into me that day for lunch and told me how out of line it was....place sucks.

the art diretor holds that place together...he's very very good. owner....*****.

I'm half tempted to file a wrongful termination suit against them. They told me 3 months...I got one. I had malfunctioning equipment etc.

so yeah...for the first time pretty much ever I'm without a job. My longest vacation in 10 years is 5 days. I'm pretty freaked out.

So if anyone hears of graphics jobs from san jo to monterey....let me know.

so in short...

last 2 months...lots of changes. lots of stress. from unapreciative *** holes to slave drivers to job less.

owner is so damn unprofessional. I didn't raise my voice once. She would just LOOOOSE it.

or you'd ask her a question and she'd look at you like you were retarded..no respect.

shoot I brought my own pencils, paper, pens, etc. The girl next to me didn't ahve a phone for the first month she was there. was using mine for the first 3 weeks I was there.

WOW!!! Sorry to hear that your new job sucked so hard. With all your experience I'm sure you'll find something relatively fast. Good luck!
