I seriously hate the general public, I am glad though that there are still people out there that help out rather than going "Meh, it's not my car." The question is, would the OP have taken such steps if it wasn't a Suby that got hit?
^ well, the fact that is was a modded suby made it easier to inquire about it on a forum that other suby drivers are familiar with. if it was a ford/mitsu/s2k/etc, i can see where a lack of local forum knowledge (aside from rival car manuf) would prevent someone from taking the extra steps to inform others.

With all that said, I don't think it was necessary for you, VRT MBasile, to put me on blast by asking that question for everyone on the forum to attempt to answer. My thread served its purpose and I'm glad things worked out as I had hoped. Let's not turn this thread into an ethical debate.
However, I'll answer your question anyways. No, I wouldn't have gone this far if the car wasn't a Subaru. At most, I would've contacted the police and I would've left a note on the windshield. I would've prayed to the gods that it wouldn't get washed down by rain and that my personal information wouldn't get picked up by some creeper.
Yin pretty much said it correctly. The fact that the car was a Subaru and the fact that the incident took place in the Bay Area gave me more resources to use. Of them, the i-Club forum was the most helpful because of the close-knit community.
Perhaps I took your question the wrong way and I apologize in advance if I sounded like a douche just now. I'm sure you're cool person, VRT MBasile
. No homo. But for the sake of this thread, let's leave the ethical stuff out
