ATTN: Hit-and-run at BJ's

What's up everyone,

Today at BJ's in Cupertino I saw an old woman back up into a red/maroon bug-eye WRX wagon that was parked in front of the restaurant. The car she was driving was a silver Pontiac. I believe it was a Grand Am. She knew that she had hit the car but never bothered to get out and leave a note. I managed to write down the license plate number of her car.

The car she hit was a red/maroon color, it was lowered, and it had Rota Grids. I don't know who the owner is and I'm hoping that someone on the forums may be affiliated with the owner. The first four characters of the car's license plate are 5CCP.

If the owner of the WRX wagon is on the forums or if anyone knows the owner then feel free to send a PM to discuss the situation. I don't feel like putting my cell phone number on here for random folks to see. Just trying to look out for a Subie owner.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't have walked/jogged over and stopped her from leaving the scene, but kudos for at least getting her plate.

So many negative Nancy's on here. Geez.

I appreciate people like you who make the effort to do the right thing. Obviously, he could have put a note on the person's car, but possibly didn't want to leave his contact info on there, for the same reason he didn't want to leave his contact info on a public forum. There's a good chance he'll have to make a statement to the police/insurance company.

Last year, my car was at a Park & Ride. Some lady in a beat up Toyota van made a nice scrape on side of my front bumper. If it wasn't for an older lady that rides the bus after me, who informed me of the car who had hit me, I would have never known. The lady was unaware that she had hit my car, and completely denied hitting it, even though her insurance company's investigation concluded otherwise. I was able to get reimbursed for the damages from her insurance company because of this.

Report it to Sunnyvale PD, that'll make insurance proceedings for the wagon owner easier.

I could have gotten out of my car and stopped the woman from leaving but I didn't want to back up traffic and there was a chance of her driving off. I did think about leaving a note and I actually did write a note. I chose not to because the weather wasn't looking too good yesterday and I thought the rain would've soaked the note if I had left it on the car.

I just called the police and an officer should be calling me sometime today. I hope the wagon owner will be compensated for the damage done to his car.
