I'm just curious how they're using the name iPhone. Since it's owned by Cisco.

been waiting on this for so damn long. To bad I don't have cingular any more and I don't have $600 laying around.

I'll get one eventually though. Maybe christmas next year..haaaa.

Wonder what SBC/Cingular/AT&T had to take in the butt to get that contract.

Everything has a price, and I expect that name is no longer owned by cisco

Then again, it does look as though Apple set their legal team up for a couple years job security

The device looks awesome. I'll see if they have one to play with at MacWorld today.

10:32--Cisco calls CNET News.com reporter with a statement about Apple's use of the term "iPhone" for its new product. "Given Apple's numerous requests for permission to use Cisco's iPhone trademark over the past several years and our extensive discussions with them recently, it is our belief that with their announcement today, Apple intends to agree to the final document and public statements that were distributed to them last night and that address a few remaining items we expect to receive a signed agreement today."

I dont like virtual keyboards. It's like typing on an Atari 400 (anyone remember those? the one with the pressure switch keyboards). I rather have a fixed, real keyboard anyday. The killer app for me is the phone, and the email access. mp3 and movies, not so much.

this is possibly the coolest thing I have seen in quite some time. A production model using a multi-point interface is awesome. Plus this is v1. v2 will probably have 3G+ and a front facing video camera for video ichat calls. Mmmm.....

Here's a size ref:

I want one, but I don't think I'll go back to Cingular.

Maybe I'll wait till the second version.
