Question AP Help. ALREDY MARRIED?!??!?!

sup everybody, i posted in the EM forum and got a few hits but nothing too helpful, seeing if anyone local can give me a hand.
well i finally got my tbe /up to run stage 2 today, i put everything on and went to flash my base & real maps, but when i go plug it in it says that the car is already using an AP map!!!! from my knowledge the car was bone stock that i bought from a dealer and i know that the previous owner had the car repo'd. what do i do now? i tried to flash the stock map with my AP but it won't let me because it's already married! i'm not sure what to do, the car drives great and pulls great, there are no CEL's (yet) , does anyone have any experience with this? any help would be great, thanks everyone. i'm running an 02 wagon w/ cali stage 2 . let me know what i can do, thanks!

so wait, the AP you bought is already married to a different ecu, or your ECU is already married to another AP, or both?

find someone with openECU (cable you can buy for about 80 bux) and have them flash a stock rom onto your ECU, it'll kill the AP software and allow you to marry the new AP to it.

yeah, the maps are stored on the AP, not the ecu, the ecu houses whatever map the AP put on it last. But yeah, be sure to flash your map (check to make sure the revision is correct) to the stock map (matching revision) and you should be good to go, you can even test marrying the AP to it before you get to the shop to save the shop 20 minutes (=

btw, where are you going to get tuned, hopefully it's GST Motorsports (=

nah, that's one thing they can't do. He can only do custom tunes for the AP, Ecutek, etc. To my knowledge he doesn't have an openecu or any other cable to flash a stock rom to an ecu.
