How obscure are you looking for? www.subaruforester.org would be your best bet to find something obscure from a Forester - there's only 20k+ Forester owners over there.

Of those, we have a few hundred in the Bay Area (registered members). Of those, we have about a dozen at any given time who show up to our Forester install days and BBQ meets.

What are you looking for?

Roo, dude whens the next forester day? I need some help tossing in the whiteline frame bolts and I might be putting in the Legacy upgrade on the rear and I HATE bleeding brakes.

I'm going to guess Forester rear trailing links to recenter rear wheels after a lift?

Haha ding ding ding. Rear trailing arms/brackets, subframe spacers, cross member spaces, tranny cradle spacers, all the bolts etc. that go along with em. Not sure exactly what I need so I was look for a forester I could poke and prod at. Roo, I started the suspension swap at your house, finished up with one of the guys who's name I'm blanking on who works at a bike shop in the city. Now I have two torn cv boots so I'd like to change the suspension angle to a little lower when I put the axles in.

I was going to post the info for the Subaru-Suzuki-Kia recycling place in Rancho Cordova, but apparently they're out of business now. As far as I know, that was the only Subaru-specific junkyard in Northern California, and although they weren't exactly cheap, they did have a lot of obscure stuff - even SVX's! Bummer.

Keep an eye on the regional forum on sf.org... I usually post those up several weeks in advance. Roo and I put them on several times a year, but they're pretty much weather-dependent since we don't have a garage. If you don't mind traveling to the North Bay it's a good way to meet Forester people and get help with your projects. If you do something like brakes, the only thing we ask is that you bring your own container to recycle the fluids.

Oh NOES!!! That place was great, especially when Sybir accompanied you! That's where I picked up the '06 WRX brakes (front and rear) for $650. They were a bit expensive, but they always seemed to have the part or parts you were looking for. I can't believe they're out of business. So where are all the Subarus they were hording going now? That's the real question.

They're not out of business, they just got bought by a larger company that's running most of the yards out there. Same shop, same guys. The new company is Specialized Parts Planet.

Also, I'm not sure if things have changed, but the Whiteline rear subframe lock bolts will not work on the factory-lifted Subarus - they're not long enough when the subframe spacers are in place. Ran into that on my OB.....
