You too!

Maybe I'll do better on the 20th.

That was a fun track! I'm looking forward to the next one already. For a horrible moment I thought it was going to conflict with skiing or traffic school, but everything is good

It was a cool track - much faster than I'm used to. Wa fun to get a chance to throw my new WRX around like a crazy .

Anyone racing on the 20th that wants to give me a ride so I can see how its done?

Good news : I was only 1/2 second off the top STX time.

Bad news : the class is SO competitive this year that I placed something like 7th as a result

Oh well, still had fun anyways.

mcowger : what run group will you be in next time? STX will be 3rd, thus lots of folks who can get you a Subaru ride. I'd suggest Rus Heywood (car #53 STX, black 02 Wagon) if you get a chance.

Where are the results posted? I'm not seeing then on the SFRSCCA site?

I will talk to rus about a ride along - I will be racing in STXN all season.

I just got the call from my car service that the front pads and disks need swapping. The rear disks are warped as well. What a bummer - I guess it means I'll just have to put some better ones on

Results aren't posted yet, that was going off of what was posted (and is preliminary/NOT official) on the side of the motorhome.

Official results are usually posted on the website late Tuesday afternoon, sometimes Wed morning.

Lorry : just going with stock-sized replacements, or looking at a size upgrade as well?

I'm probably going to stay stock sized at the moment. I have another set of wheels with new M+S tires for Tahoe trips, so it would be kinda pricey to swap the whole lot out right now.

I've been looking at springs 'n struts as well. As far as springs go, my top two are the prodrives and the sti pinks. From what I have read, it sounds like the pinks are a slightly higher rate than the prodrives, and are pretty close to stock ride height, so these might be the best bet. As for struts, its pretty much between the Konis and AGXs.

Once I have those sorted, I'll see what I need for anti-roll bars.

BTW, any advise/experience/comments are welcome

Springs : stock-ish height, I agree the STI pinks would be where you want to go.

Struts : the Konis will work better, alas they are about $200 more and require a set of donor struts be used (they are only inserts, you have to "saw apart" your stock strut housings and put in these inserts). Since your stock struts are toast anyways, this isn't the "trauma" it would be for folks who are installing them into 10K mile stock struts

Swaybars : I would start out with the Whiteline adjustable rear only. You'll probably find that the front bar is fine, but you can use a little more rear bar. Also, replace the endlinks (both front and rear) as the rubber in the stock endlinks is pretty soft. Finally, an upgrade to a better rear bar mount (either the Subaru one used on 04+ WRX, or the Whiteline one) would be highly recommended.

Yeah, breaking apart the stock struts isn't a big deal. They already have 60,000+ miles on them, so the Konis might be a good bet.

Good point about upgrading the swaybar mounts. I heard that the original WRX ones are prone to failure when beefier bars are installed.

FWIW, we had 307 entrants on Sunday. While not a record (Barry Chafin and I chaired an event a few years back with 340 folks......at the time, it was the largest "local" SCCA event that had EVER occurred!!) it is still a whole bunch! Boondoggle last year was 285 folks, and was 306 in 2003.

Results aren't up yet, but should be soon.....

Wow,307 ? I think that's the most that I've ever been in. Ed, when's your next track design ? I'm waiting for one of your "hairpin" turns like a few races ago. That was challenging.
