Anyone need a seasonal job?
Ok, so my dad owns a shop that makes gift boxes and wooden displays. He needs some people that are comfortable with saws and stapleguns. It dosent pay alot, but the day goes fast and you are done at 3:45.
Here is his job description:
I need a cutter and an assembler for the rush period.
Cutter ($10.00 to start based on experience) 7:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. (some flexibility)
Sets up table saw for specific rip cut
Uses automatic feeder to regulate cutting speed
Has understanding fractional measurement and can read a tape measure accurately.
Empty dust collector
Sand wood using a belt sander
Unpack and sort large units of wood
Can handle minimal use of an automatic staple gun
Provides other manual labor around shop as needed
Experience in spraying and finish work a plus.
Experience in Screen Printing a plus
Assembler ($ 8.00 to start based on experience) 7:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. (some flexibility)
Possible 2nd shift 3:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Uses automatic staple guns to assemble wood boxes and displays
Uses hand held staple guns to assemble wood boxes and displays
May use glue to assemble boxes
Used Belt sander to “clean” sand boxes and wood parts
May assist in water based staining of boxes either by dipping or moving boxes that have already been sprayed.
Moving containers or wheeled tables of wood parts around the shop
Clean up work area
Provides other manual labor around shop as needed
Experience in spraying and finish work a plus.
Experience in Screen Printing a plus
No real experience required. Only a willingness to work in a dusty, noisy place with some friendly people.
The bottom line is that we will work with people on their schedule and skill level. If they can work only 2, 3, 4 days per week, that might work out as well. It all depends on what they can do and when. There are no benefits. There is a 15 minute paid break in the morning and afternoon and 45 minutes unpaid at 11:30 to 12:15 for lunch. No sick days, no unemployment, etc.
if anyone is interested please email him at: sales@woodboxspecialties.com
Thanks,
aaron
