Anyone know where to get a laptop battery in the bay?

As luck would have it, as soon as I get back from my wedding and get back to work, the battery in my tuning laptop decides to completely burn out. One minute it was working fine and holding a great charge, the next the laptop will not power on without being plugged in and won't stay running on battery power no matter how long its charged. As you can imagine this can be a problem for tuning. I ordered a new battery online but I'd really like to get a replacement ASAP so I don't have to re-schedule customers. Anyone know where to pick one up locally?

This is for a Toshiba Satellite laptop.

Thanks

any best buy should have them Ed. if they dont have brand specific ones in stock, targus makes a universal battery (also sold at best buy). just write down the model number of your laptop and see which ones will work for it

Try finding those little computer shops that do repair or whatever, they usually have a few random parts for sale.

ed,

can you just use one of these so your laptop charger can be used to power your laptop temporarily until your new battery comes in?

I use an inverter anyway to keep the battery charged up. The problem is that sometimes I have to reset the ECU which means turning off the ignition. With a dead battery, the laptop will just shut off instantly which is not desired

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I ended up driving out to Sacramento and $120 + gas later I have a crappy battery that sticks out from the laptop. I think this laptop is probably worth about that itself. Oh well. At least I'm back up and running.

Thanks

you could've come visited me instead! Time to start thinking about a new laptop Ed, Toshiba makes junk. don't get me started on their driver support, or lack there of! Get a mac, or a dell. also grab one of the TBA Dell netbooks as a backup. that's what i'm getting to keep in my car for datalogging/tuning.
