The average human being swallows 5 or so spiders in their life time during sleep.

Total myth. That was actually made up to prove the point that you can make up any BS you want and it will be taken as fact on the interwebz, and in an ironic twist of fate, it is now the most common piece of misinformation on the web.

I too can't stand effn spiders, I have arachnophobia. Even the smallest spiders I can't stand. Black widows scare the crap out of me. I use raid on them little bastards. I heard one of the deadliest venom is from the daddy long legs, but their fangs are too weak to puncture through human skin. I'm glad :/

Remember that dumbass "Arachnophobia" movie back in the day? My cousin put some black widows in a big water container & they had hundreds of 'lil babies, he ended up just burning them all afte awhile. It's funny how the daddy long legs have deadly venom but tiny fangs, i used to **** with them alot growing up as a kid. I also would wake up hella early in the morning & feed those small funnel web spiders in the bushes insects i'd catch. I loved watching them attack & eat. Another time me & my cousins tried to kill a bigass spider on my ceiling but every time i got near it with my wad of toilet paper, my body would shake uncontrollably & i got deathly afraid of it. It took hella long since we were all scared & screaming like pussies, nobody wanted to get near it, spiders strike fear in all of us i guess!

I'm from Ottawa Canada, and while we don't really have too many nasty spiders up in Canada on the East Coast, we do have something else that bothers me WAAAAAY more than spiders... They have an innocuous enough name... A House Centipede:

These bastards move faster than lightning and show up in the worst place. They are also venomous and their bite is like a bee sting... Lovely

UCR Spiders Site: Daddy Long Legs Myth

How many more internet myths can we dredge up in this thread?

Wonder why mother nature thought it would be a good idea to give something with 32 legs super fast reflexes and venomous fangs. *shivers*

Yeah its gross. Think about if evolution took a different direction and those things were bigger than humans. We'd be toast.
