Total myth. That was actually made up to prove the point that you can make up any BS you want and it will be taken as fact on the interwebz, and in an ironic twist of fate, it is now the most common piece of misinformation on the web.
When I was in vietnam at a internet cafe sitting at a computer, there was this bright yellow/ orange flying/jumping spider that jumped through the row of monitors. F THAT NOISE!!! Sure scared me.
I too can't stand effn spiders, I have arachnophobia. Even the smallest spiders I can't stand. Black widows scare the crap out of me. I use raid on them little bastards. I heard one of the deadliest venom is from the daddy long legs, but their fangs are too weak to puncture through human skin. I'm glad :/

I'm from Ottawa Canada, and while we don't really have too many nasty spiders up in Canada on the East Coast, we do have something else that bothers me WAAAAAY more than spiders... They have an innocuous enough name... A House Centipede:

These bastards move faster than lightning and show up in the worst place. They are also venomous and their bite is like a bee sting... Lovely

It's funny how the daddy long legs have deadly venom but tiny fangs, i used to **** with them alot growing up as a kid. I also would wake up hella early in the morning & feed those small funnel web spiders in the bushes insects i'd catch.
