Anyone know of (or have) storage or warehouse space for my STi...

Morning y'all... I'm in the process of searching for a new home for my STi. Car is stored in the east bay currently but I live in San Rafael. Craigslist seems for be less than sucessful for me so far. There are some new garage space near Infineon but way bigger than I need.

I'm looking for a secure space where I can store AND work on the car. Can be a small garage space or a warehouse of ~1500 ft2 or less. I potentially have other uses for a warehouse but car storage is the primary goal for now. I plan on having a trailer shortly so there's that to consider.

Just thought I'd ask on here as I'm still relatively "new" to being back in the bay. Throwin it out there lol...

North Bay would be great, East Bay/SF less great but still good...

Thanks!

wow up to 1500 sq ft? even 150sq ft would be plenty of room to park and work on just one car (10"X15") just to keep in mind when your looking for spaces. Though if you do find a bigger spot close to SF let me know, I need a spot to store and work on a car too, maybe we can go in on a space.

Thanks for the responses guys! Storeinside looks cool but its too far away to work for me, regardless of the "can I work on it in your warehouse" question.

I should be more clear. I could go for either a small garage space OR a larger warehouse. It seems like larger space is cheap nowadays and I'd likely use and sublet a larger space as shop space shared with another tradesman I know for light shop work/ material storage. Thats why something larger could work. I'm on the hunt regardless...

Krinkov I'll def. keep you in mind as I am seeking a spot in that general area. I may end up living back in SF by next summer. Old friend is moving back to France and may lease his house to me and the fam. Might be a cheaper option than Marin. I'm gonna be working in East Bay regardless. At the end of the summer I will lose my current storage due to a large project starting at my job and the conversion of the space...

I live in a warehouse live/work space that has 1000-2000 sq ft units (usually 1 bedroom, 1 bath and kitchen upstairs and open below.) The problem is only a few have roll up doors, and some are pretty narrow (only had 1 open when I moved and my STI couldn't fit), but they've got lots of parkinglot space that's fully gated and well lit at night and they let me put up a fully enclosed carport. Shoot me a pm if you're interested.

There's a small airport at the end of smith ranch rd off 101 (near the soccer fields, golf range) my dad used to rent a hangar there but he moved his plane to a bigger airport, a few of the other hangar owners used them for car storage and etc...don't remember the name or prices as it was 10+ years ago, but I think its still up and running, if you are interested I can ask my dad more about it

Not sure, it was a small place, only 20 or so hangars, and most of them were shared by two people and most had a car or two in it, my dads hangar was shared with a guy who stored a chrysler lebaron and a bunch of architecture plans etc in it, didn't have a plane at all, but yeah that was like in 2000

how long would you need to occupy the space for?

What would you do primarily when you work on your car ?

Hooooo B! You guys are moving? Where to my man? You wanna house my big booty scooby? We need to catch up mate regardless...

A hangar off Smith Ranch would be pimpin. And that would be very, very close to my house. I'm wondering if I could just drive out there and check...

slugrx - If you talk to your dad and happen to ask him about it that would be cool! I may just cruise out there and have a look see. Sounds like a small airport so that might be a possibility.

As far as terms I'm thinking a year lease to start as I'm still not sure about where I'll be at in one year. What I am sure of is that the house I live in has a impossible slope to the driveway and the garage in the place I may rent next year in SF is really tight and would likely not work either.

As far as working on the car it would typically be routine stuff for now. However, I'm in the process of deciding if I should rip out the interior, stereo, stock seats and cage the car (to make it into a track ****) or start swapping back to stock all the stuff that does not allow me to even register this car in California. Apparently when you come in from out of state you have a manditory DMV inspection. My car has a FMIC, custom intake, fuel rails, tgv deletes, WI, A/O Separator, etc. The car sits for over a year now and has been driven only a few times for a tune, track day and BAM. Keeps the milage low LOL. Only 35,000 original miles.

Either option would require some space and clean storage. Not doing any bodywork or painting.

code3suby - pm sent...
