Anyone help please?

Alright so I just got my first Subaru on sunday. I've been in the nissan world but my dad decided he wanted my car so I got a subaru. I have a 1997 Subaru Impreza Wagon. Its automatic and AWD. Thats all I really know about it.

Can anyone fill me up with information about it? and like take me under their wing and teach me the ropes. My two cousins have subaru's but they're both busy. So if anyone could just teach me a few things or two about it. I'd be most greatful.

Try to find a good service manual and make a point of doing your own services whenever possible/capable -- it's great way to learn the ins n outs.

Congrats. Looks like a pretty sweet scoob.

Get a wrecked sti and do a full swap. Just kidding, well not really, but just have fun with it and take your time researching. Then based on everything you've seen do what you like with it and make it yours.

Nice pick up and welcome to the Suby world. Your already doing good asking for help on the car, ton of people out there to help.

Your wagon looks a lot like the wagon I'm trying to get, just a hell of a lot better condition

Your car is a 2.2L Ej22 flat four, boxer engine. It produces 145 HP and 142 lbft. While seeming a little anemic at times, the 4EAT transmission coupled to a 4.44 final drive was geared short enough that a quick down-shift would always help you over that hill.

One of the benefits... oh forget it and just read the wikipedia entry
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_....22.2F.22GM.22

I have a 1996 Impreza wagon and I used to have a 99 and an 02 wagon. Totally awesome cars. The EJ22 is a little weak but plenty for most everything you would use it for and it is bulletproof.

Short answer: More than the price you paid for the car.
