Anyone have a hookup on paintjobs?
Anyone have a hookup on paintjobs?
Hey guys, sold my subaru a while ago (I miss it and hope to get another soon) and got a e30 bmw as a DD.
The current (original) white paint is starting to fade and I am looking for a new paintjob this summer probably. It will be a single stage since I cant afford 2 stage paint jobs right now. Hoping to paint it white.
Does anyone have a hookup on one? I'd prefer not to go to maaco or anything like that.
Thanks

With paint, you get exactly what you pay for. All of the paint, pretty much all of the support equipment costs the same.
What you are really paying for is the labor. How much time are they going to spend on prep-work? How much on masking/detailing? How much time will they spend smoothing dents and ripples?
These are the things that make a paint job good.
You maybe be able to save a couple hundred dollars moving from one shop to another; but pretty much everyone uses the same estimating guides.
Realistically, you aren't going to get decent paint job for less than $3000, you aren't going to get a good one for less than $5000

I would beg the differ regarding that all the quality of paint supply is all pretty much the same. Higher quality materials will cost more, even to the shop.
I would get it looked at for a paint correction if the paint is still within salvageable bounds.
