Anyone Have this happen to them?

I just broke my Shifter basket (i belive thats what its called) while shifting hard into third. Anyone here have that happen to them before??? Is it common (specially with short shifters)? And if so, do they make higher quality replacement baskets that will work for 05 STi? Any insight would help.

Thanks,
Stef

shifter basket? Do you mean the trim or the linkage? Or the bracketting that sometimes has to be bent/moved for the short shifter? I'm confused.

Its a cylinder shaped plastic piece that has two rubber o-rings. Its what the ball of the shifter sits in. Its white and i belive its this part...

Have you tried talking to Kevin at Auto HQ? I'm going to get some stuff done on Thursday, you should give him a call.

Due to the silly STi ecu, it blips the throttle UP after a WOT shift, so you gotta wait for it to drop anyway, no need to "slam gears" as ricers say

Is that due to the ECU? I always thought it was my pedal timing... :rotfl: oops

Hrm... I think it's pedal timing. Mine only goes up if I have my foot on the gas for half a second after I put the clutch in on a shift.
