Anyone ever been to this computer show @ cow palace?

http://www.robertaustin.com/

I was thinking about going there this saturday at the cow palace to get some RAM. I was wondering if anyone has been to it before to see if it's even worth the drive all the way out there.

i used to go to those all the time ~5-6 years ago. they used to be the best price in town. Now internet/Frys is often cheaper and more reliable

Central Computer rocks. There is one in Santa Clara too on Steven's Creek @ Saratoga.

RAM at a computer show...scary. My luck I'd end up with DOA sticks.

I used to work for the Caloptic booth for that,
first, the people that run it are ***** in general, they are problematic and give people **** all the time (well at least the vendors)

second, there are usually trinkets for sale etc and general cheapo stuff, frys is a way better buy (refund etc)

third, what used to be a huge show is now miniscule hence the halt of us vending there

all in in all
don't go it sucks

glad I asked... I wouldn't have went just for RAM, it was just one thing I'm looking for. I know that I can get good deals elseware too, I just thought I'd check it out... but it sounds like a dump.

IMO, the folks who run the show aren't the nicest. You can get better deals at Fry's.

+2

I went in their to ask them if they could test my RAM since I didn't have a 2nd computer on hand and the guy turned me down, then a nice guy in the back popped out and offered to do it. We tipped him $20 for not being an ******* and then one of the (no racism intended) asian guys (i'm guessing one of the of the owners) yelled at him as we where walking out. I forgot to mention we found out it was the mobo and then we bought an Asus t2 there (in the same visit since we had the computer too).
