The specs are hard to deny. I need to talk to my friend at Apple and see when they're going to release new stuff, I don't want to buy and then a week later something new is out.

the thing is that no one knows. the management is even out of the loop. the only way to know for sure is to know someone deep inside..even if they do come out with something new i forgot what it was completely but i think if its within a couple months you can trade up..apexwagon should clarify i worked there with him

Apple nerd checking in. I have a G5 Tower, 13" MacBook, iPod nano and iPhone. And add me to the "Want a Mini" crowd... the ol G5 is starting to show its age.

Everything is new right now anyways.. All imacs ere updated like three months ago and all the lap tops were updated last week. On top of that your always gonna have a update just around the corner. At some point you gotta just sack up and buy it.. Nice thing about apple stuff though is it has the best resale in the industry so upgrading isnt as big a hit as it could be if what comes out is a must have for you.

I see your G4 and raise your my G3 ibook, all you need to do is take care of them and they will give you a good service. I currently own an iphone and a current generation macbook as well.

Mine. LOL My dual 1.25ghz G4 just croaked last September. I had it since March of 2003. I'm on my 4 year old G4 Powerbook. As a graphic and web designer who wants to watch anime in HD, this hardware is really painful to use. I'm looking to get a new aluminum Macbook. I'm going to be switching from a Sony Ericsson K790a to an iPhone 3G(S) when I get around to it in a few weeks or so. Joining the iPhone mafia only because it'll have all the gadgets I want in a single device (navi, iPod, video recorder, camera with autofocus, Twitter, Facebook, games and video to tide me over in long lines, etc).

had all that & MORE 2 yrs ago w/my HTC/AT&T Tilt.....already HSPA (3Gs) powered since then as well.

iPhone looks trick & is sleek, but even w/their new crackhead pricing, i just can't get w/only a touchscreen keyboard. i need a REAL qwerty too!

my list of used apples:
Powerpc G4 AGP edition 400mhz, maxed out my ram, and had 200gb HDD in it and superdrive.
Quicksilver dual 1.0GHZ(wish i had a MDD version, but nah) ran 1.25GB ram on that, moved the 200 GB over to that.
Powerpc G5 dual 1.8GHZ running 1GBRAM, standard 128mb video card, and 80GB HDD, my 200 isn't Sata so i can't use it on my G5

it really sucks that snow leopard is going to be Intel Based, so i'm gonna have to sell my G5 soon, and maybe get a mac mini, mac Pros are too ballin. iPhone 3GS makes me want to break away from sprint.

apple user for over 4 years now, great to get away from the instability of the PC world. That's why i chose to go apple, and that's why i'm staying.

20" iMac G5, macbok, iPods here.

i never understood why older Macs run up to date OS fine, while older PCs are always too sluggish for the new OS.

Haha, cuz Apple charges out the a$$, we'd better get our money's worth by making the newer software stable enough to run on older machines for years! Although Snow Leopard's catching up now. So my 4 year old Powerbook is pretty much gonna be done. I'm going to trade it in at Powermax or something.
