Anyone can help me swap a trunk (Berkeley area)?

Swap completed, thanks Kevin!

Anyone in Berkeley/Albany/El Cerrito area can help me swap a trunk? It'll be great if you have done the trunk swapping before. I'm not working this and next week so weekday is actually beter for me. Weekend works too but may be a little busy with kids home. I'm in Albany, very close to Albany Subaru dealer.

If you can help, please PM. Thanks a lot.

Howard

I can't make it out there, but definitely use blankets or any soft fabric to lay the trunks on. I laid it on cardboard and even that caused some fine scratches.

The trickiest part will be swapping out the locks. The piece of metal holding the lock in place is a PITA.

Thanks for the advice! When I was partly involved in a swap a while ago with a couple of i-clubbers, it was definitely a major pain getting the metal piece out, it took us a while.

Thanks jewpac42. What's your availability? Please feel free to PM me.

Anyone else available? 3 people including myself would be ideal especially when taking off and putting back on the trunk.

2 people is plenty. Only reason you need 2 is to hold the trunk up while bolting it down. Everything is simple, just caress the metal plate off of the key cylinder.

The key part isn't the hard part...the spring rod is the sucker.

Yeah, I thought the springs were much harder than the lock part...
