You weren't supposed to do an endo, bunnyhop and wheelie followed by a no-handed superman in your test Kyle......the instructors frown on that kind of 'test'

No Ruckus, but my wife and I do have scooters. So much fun!

Also, the old rule of 49cc not requiring a license in California is gone. Though it's still the rule in many other states.

From Ca, DMV Motorcycle Handbook.
Motor-Driven cycles
A motor-driven cycle is:
• A motorcycle with a 149 cc or less engine size.

NOTE: You may not operate a motor-driven cycle on a freeway if signs are posted to prohibit motor-driven cycle operation.

Supposed to have an M1 these days.

There are no provisions for sub 50cc bikes listed anymore.

bikes are nice because you can go thru all the red lights. I make it across town faster than in my car! and my bike is single speed
bicycles are suppose to follow all posted vehicle laws.... INCLUDING red lights. You're lucky you haven't gotten a ticket yet. Last time I went to court in santa cruz probably half the people in there were violations on bicycles, stop signs and stop lights.

I've gotten popped for speeding. So be careful.

Cop: Son, I clocked you going 45 in a 25 coming down that hill.
Ray: Really? Cool!
Cop: I'm going to give you a break and only write you up for 35 in a 25.
Ray: Damn... WHY? Please put 45 on there.
Cop: Wat? OK, if you insist.
Ray: Can I get some copies to give to friends?

The only 'motorcycle' I've ever wrecked (knock on wood) was a 50cc Yamaha Zuma. That thing was sooooo much fun. Tons of aftermarket available, too.

that would always happen.

I used to ride with a lot of people, no one would ever go down unless it was something really serious.

as soon as I got a go-ped everyone hopped on and wrecked at least twice.

when you are on something so small, you have no respect for the vehicle and just do stupid things on it

Stupid doesn't even begin to describe it. Haha.

The cool thing about the Zuma is it holds a 12er under the seat and another fits between your feet.

one of the guys from the bike shop i was working at built this thing

i started building something similar over summer, but i was having problems with chainline interference and a few other small things. then i popped a tire and decided to splurge on the wheels i had been looking at so i sold off the project. for anyone thats interested in the legalities assumed with mopeds and motorized bicycles, i did have a little conversation with the traffic sergeant here in palo alto. he said that any bicycle can be fitted with a gasoline engine under 50cc so long as it can still be pedaled. it would then be legal in the bike lanes as a "moped/motorized bicycle"

Is it true it counts as a point on your record? (speeding/red light)

I feel safe with my city shirt on, it says "STAFF" on the back haha.
