I had one which got stuck partially open after an oil change... I let the oil drain over night cause it was late and my oil was hella dirty. Next morning closed it up and filled up the oil... drove to the gas station and noticed a small puddle then drove to the autoparts store and back home (was onthe way home).

I don't know if I'm going to try that again...

Old topic brought back...

But how are these holding up for you guys...I ordered one.

Also did you guys use a crusher washer with the install or just the gasket that came with it.

Thnx!

I bought it directly from Fumoto close to $30 with shipping.

I run mine with the supplied gasket and have had zero problems. Been going strong for close to ten years (and that's with a sh*t ton of dirt driving).

As for the filter, I just punch a couple of holes towards the outside of the bottom of the filter with an awl and just let it drain for a few minutes before pulling it off. Been doing that for years and have no messy oil changes (and don't have to waste a plastic bag as per Post #3)
