Any local shops going to be Cobb Protuners?
With Cobb's Protuner software now in the hands of a few 'beta' shops, are there any Bay Area shops planning on getting it?
Call Ryan at FLI. I spoke to him a couple months ago and he said Cobb was supposed to give them a beta version sometime this month. Then again, Cobb said that they were going to give them the beta version earlier and pushed back to the May timeframe.

what a great marketting device. get people who dont know much about tuning to buy an AccessPORT. then release street/protuner to further satisfy their modding needs and at the same time turn people on to real tuning instead of off the shelf maps.... i can say that im a victim... both scenarios haha. cuz i was very intimidated by ecutek, utec, etc before i got my AP.

edgar,

I did recently tune an STI using Street Tuner. While the software has its drawbacks as compared to Ecutek, it also has a lot of potential and several useful features that Ecutek software does not. Namely live tuning and the abilit to truly switch between maps using the Access Port. Street Tuner does not give access to nearly as many maps and parameters as Ecutek software, but I expect that once Pro Tuner comes out, most of these maps will become available to the tuner. So while the Pro Tuner will likely give more control over some of the more complex functions of the ECU, the features of Street Tuner are quite adequate to allow for a smooth, powerful, and safe tune. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions about the Street Tuner, Ecutek or tuning in general.
Thanks

Do the "real time" maps still get overwritten by the 'learning' function of the ECU? None of the "real time" maps ever worked for more than 30 miles or so with our AP.
Do you still have to connect the green harness to reflash a base map into the ECU?
