Any home brewers here?
Just started my first batch of West Coast style IPA, a kit bought from Fermentation Solutions. So excited to get into this and experiment once I get the basics down.
Wondering if anyone else on here does it and if you have any tips, I read the Home Brew Handbook cover to cover and took notes along the way. . .so much fun!

You sell stuff too? Whats your website or store? I'd be down for a brew day, now is that drinking or brewing? I found a Stone Ruination recipe that I want to try. . .

You believe I do? You've been there on brew day!
Anyways, yes, I do. And if you have the time, check out MoreBeer in Los Altos, I like their grain selection (and handling of grain) better than Fermentation Solutions. However, Fermentation Solutions seems to have a better stash of hops.

Yeah I bought all my equipment and the beer kit from Fermentation Solutions. I may go check out More Beer since I need some Cascade hops for dry hopping.

Has anyone of you brewsters brewed Mead? Honey alcohol?
I'm thinking of trying it out, seems pretty simple, boil honey, water, spice it up, add yeast, let sit for 2 weeks or so.
Any tips for Mead brewing?

From what I understand, mead isn't that hard, but has to age for a while before it is really good. I'm too impatient to do that! Even though I'm drinking a year old stout
I've brewed alot of mead in my time. If you want really good mead you will need unpasteurized honey which can be quite expensive for 5 gallons or so. I rarely do meads anymore and just focus on beer because mead needs at least 3 years aging and will taste like rocket fuel for the first year, with beer you can drink it withing 2 months.
