any good snowboarding or ourdoors forums?
how about .... http://www.snowboard.com/
most of the internet snowboard forums are plauged with little kids, and teeny boppers. You can tell the moment you read the first few posts. Not a lot of useful info just a bunch a crying and bubble gum popping.

a couple seasons ago i joined a group on yahoo for bay area snowsporters. unfortunately, they just recently made it a paid membership for new folks. it was called BASS(bay area ski & snowboard...or something like that). it is now known as ski-pal.
i could post up your "ad" if you'd like. just pm me & lemme know what you're pitching.
also, check out the S N O W B O M B message board. this one is free!
btw, i'm gonna try to hit the slopes on thursday. the forecast calls for some serious dumpage monday thru wednesday. woohoo! i just hope i can trade shifts w/ a co-worker.

snowbomb has some good deals.
I'm looking for one myself.
I go on www.biglines.com every now and again. Mostly canadians. Not the heaviest traffic. And mostly skiiers. But you can get some good back country and tech info from the folks on the site. Lots of skill on the boards.
so far I'm one day off on my .
Boardaholic....if you can swing it...I say go Thursday broham.
If you watched me last year...I'm rarely wrong. I predicted a two dayer coming in this week...like 2 weeks ago with a couple inches of precipitation. I was thinking it would be monday/tuesday, but it's looking more like a tuesday wed deal. I'd expect kirkwood and bear to get about a foot to 16 inches tomorrow/tomorrow night and close to 2 feet wed/wed night. If you hit it thursday I will guarantee you get some sun...and about 3 feet of fresh snow if you know where to go.
couple of inches of precip usually makes a couple feet of snow..depending on temperature...buy this one should be down to like 4200 feet..maybe a bit lower.
EDIT...I just reread your post..you are going thursday..good man...good man.
Friday will be a bit warmer...I'd do kirkwood on thursday and sugar on friday. haaa.
But dude...I have been staying far away from the weather reports for the most part because I can't ride for at least another month. So I could be wrong.
My preseason research is off by about 3 weeks right now.
watch out for the first week of january......call it a hunch...a farmer hunch. lol.

i think ya got a li'l too stoked b/c ya left something out up there...at least i hope ya did.

yeah, i'm gonna hit up the msg boards/forums to see who's heading up on thurs. i don't wanna go solo. plus, i prefer not to drive this round since i just did to sugar bowl on sat.
it's funny that you mentioned kirkwood & sugar bowl since those are my prefences, in that order. great minds think alike, eh? then i'd consider sierra esp. if the backside chair is running. the el dorado is full of boulder huckin' at the top, then trees the rest o' the way down to the lift. oops...i just gave away a pretty good one!

so it looks like mid-to-late-january for you, huh? i'm glad to hear that your p.t. is progressing as scheduled. i can't wait for you to help set up the trip/meet to bear valley. i can finally get a guided tour of those secret stashes of freshies that you & your bro hit up all the time.

yeah...I know some cool little spots at bear. Lots of people know em....most of them you can see. Just a lot of people don't go out as far as we do. And with other people we don't go out to far cause most people hate to walk. Like me....haaaa. I don't think I'll be hiking much this season. the knee is gonna have a hard enough time with the riding.
Dude.....if you don't make it up during the week. Hit up bear valley on friday. Just get there early. I'm talking....a half hour before the lifts open...and go strait to the bear chair....3 runs on the face..then hit the back the rest of the day. It's not open during the week...so if you were really a savage and could get off work you could do this.
Kirkwood Thursday...huge fresh day.
Sugarbowl Friday....hit up juno and ride some tracks
Bear Valley on Sat...fresh lines probably until after lunch...without having to look for em.
Bear Valley on Sunday...hit up the hidden stashes...and ride cut powder the rest of the time.
haaaaaaa...that would be me....but I'll be lucky to be doing half days when I first start. My knee starts to hurt pretty bad with activity...hoping it will stop in the next month. Starting this week I'll be riding the stationary and eliptical at 24 hour every day if I can..I'd like to be up to an hour to an hour and a half strait by mid january.
anyways broham......like I said...hit up bear valley on sat if you don't make it out during the week. They are closed all week. This sat. is openning day for the full time schedule so it will be packed....but packed for bear valley is like a monday at most places. Not very packed where it's worth riding....like tiger and spyglass.
