Talking Any Car Shops in the Concord Area

My very first post!!! (Well on this site.) I have been using this site as a good reference every since I got my blue 04' WRX (about 2 weeks ago). It has helped me install my boost gauge, get the right alarm system and even knowledge on CAI and BOV for this car... So thanks to all.

Myself, from the bay area and notice alot of Subaru's out there. Two of my co-workers has STI so I just realize how much this car has potential.

So I want to start toward the right direction if I do decide to add more things to my car (aka: more mods) so does anyone know of any local car shops around here or should I just buy them online? I remeber there was one in concord when I had my 01' Celica but I think that places shut down.

Any pointers for a new owner of a WRX would be appreciated. Thanks all

Randy

I lived in Walnut Creek up untill about a month ago when I moved to Antioch. There are no good places in Concord. Believe me, it is well worth it to make the trip out to MPJ/GB out in Hayward for parts and service. SubyDude is really good too for parts; especially rims. It may sound like a long drive, but it really is worth it.

Welcome aboard. Try and make it out to UCKK and PINO/Hooters.

Also whats a UCKK and PINO? sounds like a meet? my guess. Its been while since I been on forum boads (well since I got rid of the celica)

They are meets, yes. The UCKK meet is a bit larger and has a longer history, but the PINO/Hooters is cool too.

Hahaha! It's funny that you should say that because we have gotten some flack from the parking lot security lately. There was word of moving the meet. I didn't go this last week, but I heard that there was no harrasment by the rent-a-cops this last Tues., so I don't know what the word is now. Here is the thread about it getting moved.

-Chris... damn I just posted a lot of links.

Damn thats messed up.... Well you will always some haters out there and some that will open then mouth to complain. Well hey, thanks for the info and all. I may check out the meet.

I think my main thing why I am checking around is to decide on my first thing I want to do to my car. After researching, a CAI does not do jack! (though it sounds hella sweet on my co workers STI. You can hear the stock BOV kick in) I dont like the rice feeling so no BOV on my car. Would love to get a exhaust system or rims but you know $$$ talks.. so... I am just checking out the waters.....

thanks again for the ideas!

No prob. If you like the sound of your buddies exhaust check out the snorkel or "snorkus" removal mod. You can find how to do it either by running a search here, or scoobymods.com. Best part... it's FREE!

Thumbs up

You can check out Twin Cam Motorsports in Concord if you like. Not the greatest in price but if you need something small, they might just have it if you're in a hurry. Otherwise, MPJ/GB.. Gruppe-S is the way to go.

A little hint... If you go on a Sat. early afternoon there is like a mini-meet in the parking lot. That way you can get a feel for the shop AND meet some people.

I get most of my stuff from Twin Cam Motorsports in Concord. The owner, Ed, is an avid autocrosser and really knows his stuff.

While you're there, check out his SCCA/ITB Integra and Prelude!
