Another silly question... abandoned train tracks

Okay... here's another silly question for everyone. Does anyone know where there's any abandoned train tracks in the Bay Area?

while they are not completly abandoned, there is a rail extension going up to davenport through santa cruz.

Also there is that roaring camp up in Felton http://www.roaringcamp.com/

steam engines, nothing makes for a better pic!

I know of a couple short pretty industrial looking sections. I used em for photo-shoots n stuff. Drop me a line if you're really interested in a section and I'll try n point you out a few areas up in San Francisco.

Like I said, these are pretty small and short areas of track though...

That's one reason, it doesn't strike me as being the brightest move in the world. I've already tested my luck with a car and that went okay but I'm reasonably sure there'd be a very different outcome with a train. I've chatted with a few other photographers in the area that have done shoots on active train tracks and the man I guess doesn't take too kindly to it.

Believe it or not scenery isn't big on the list. Roaring camp is to public so it wouldn't work out. Tell more about the extension though!!! Are there any hiking or mountain biking trails near by?

right at the foot of dumbarton... i think its abondoned... cuz i never EVER see any trains going through it.

Yup, East Palo Alto...a real nice area....actually, you are close enough to the highway that you will be fine.

No trains use it because of some bull with the cities and the train company. Though they are trying to open it back up and get into service.
