I was there. Just got off work at mid-night and trying to take the highway, then I heard all that shooting - right in front of me. I duck in my car. Then, police say, "Get back! get back!" - while flashing their lights at me. So, I reversed out of the highway entrance. There was a van who tried to enter behind me, that was when I used my hella horns. I think the loudest horn you hear in the video could be mine.
And we let 80 Oakland police go. Big mistake!

I got stuck in the aftermath this morning trying to get to the city. 580 is closed at lakeview, yet the chp officers at the park blvd on ramp let me get on the freeway, even after asking them about it. Took me almost 3 hours to get into the city.

According to my brother (his a CHP), this guy was pulled over for what i think is speeding, when a CHP officer look in to his car this guy wore body armor and carried at least one handgun and several rifles. he was trying to commit suicide by i guess having a shoot out between cops. my brother was there but he didnt fire any shots. The man was finally shot around 6 times and was taken by ambulance to Highland Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
