The motor you speak of was #2. That lasted all of 1000miles before it blew. It was replaced with a USDM STi short block. Motor #3 & #4

seriously....what's it gonna take to repair this motor and what are the possible reasons it went.

We're missing something. The only thing that hasn't been changed is the heads.

So you could either sell everything and put it back to stock and sell it..move on.

Sell your motor stuff and pick up a stock STI swap and put a few small mods on it.

Repair what you have. If you do this I'm thinking you should track down a new head.

Could this have been caused by perrin's latest crappy product?

Holly **** Jeff! There has to be something external causing all these failures. These motors (with the exception of #2) just don't go so quickly and easily at these power levels. Have you checked out your oil system? Maybe the heads were the culprit this whole time considering they're one of the only constants through your whole ordeal. Just a thought...

Pretty much.

You say that the crawford motor was #2... and that the #3 and #4 motor was a UDSM STi short block... but what about the internals? wasn't this motor still a crawford motor to some extent?

As I told Mike yesterday. In the event that we decide to fix it again. We must take a different approach. Everytime something goes wron the failures are obvious. It's easy to tell what is wrong/ what failed. What isn't as easy is determining why it happened. I have spoken with him about dropping items that have been consistant with each and every build.
Heads: We are going to replace these heads with a set of '04 heads that Mike has. They are to be completely rebuilt, in new condition.
Catch Cans: Mike has had problems in the past with running different ID hoses. Apparently this can result in excessive back pressure in the crank case. It's a long shot but an educated one.
ECU: We haven't talked about this yet. I don't think that there could be a problem woth this as there have been many eyes that have peered inbto the brain of ECU. NOthing has been said, but that doesn't mean something isn't wrong.

I seriously can not afford another car payment. This car has broken me in half. I am so far into it that cutting my losses is way past due. Eventually you'd think we'd be at a point that the next solutuion, is "the solution". I guess I need to decide if I am willing to take that route or not. I think I am as long as this particular time we take the gloves off, don't pull any punches, and net desireable long term results for both parties. I'm certain that Mike is as tired of working on this car as I am having him work on it.

I'm thinking that too. If you have anything you can offer into this, please do not hold back. I have to believe, you still have interest in this.

There is quite a bit that I am not sharing, as this story is way too long. One thing I will share is that from the moment the car was removed from FLI(***kers). I vowed to both Ed and Mike, I was no longer going to ignore thier suggestions. What they recommended is what we would do. I follow thier instuctions to a tee. Both of them I am sure can attest to that. I am active enough in the community that many can verify how long this road has been, and that I have never veared off the path regardless of how rough it got.

I remember when the last one went we talked about the heads possibly being the culprit as it was the only non changed part from the crawford mess.
