I am going to LOVE NFL season this year, hopefully I will get games on ESPN!
I've had to go in and force close a few apps, the Amazon mp3 crap and some other things and that has improved my battery life now. But it was pretty bad for a while.

I have the Galaxy S and haven't had the 2.2 update yet. Thought I heard something about Galaxy S owners getting it later or something. Hopefully thats wrong, sounds like a nice update.

On the rooting note...
Anyone heard anything on rooting Galaxy S's? I haven't looked on the forums yet but just thought I'd check if anyone has heard anything.

Us Galaxy S users won't get our 2.2 update until later this year. My Captivate(AT&T) won't get the update until like October.

Yeah that's what I thought Guess rooting it and getting the unofficial 2.2 update will happen first

just got it on my moto droid...i like the new "phone" "internet" and "menu" buttons. More intuitive and easier access for key features.

I got mine last weekend for motorola droid. Seems alright. But my phone no longer goes from sound to vibrate to silent... its either sound to vibrate or sound to silent. Oh well.

I'm on my phone right now btw.

If any android users are on the fence about rooting, I WHOLLY recommend it. I came from the iPhone and was unimpressed with my Nexus 1 for the first couple of weeks I had it. Once I rooted it and started using custom ROMs it became a whole new ballgame. Now I don't see myself leaving android for a verrrrrrrrrrrry long time. I even got a cheap HD2 so I could install android on it and mess around with it.

When you rooted your Galaxy S Vibrant, did you lose all the apps that were on your phone before rooting? I know when I rooted my G1 way back, I had to start all over. But rooting the G1 was a lot more complicated that what rooting the Galaxy S Vibrant looks like.

Also, since your already rooted have you used any of the CPU controller apps to speed it up? If so, how was it?

Thanks!

My battery life is TERRIBLE after this update. On a motorola droid. Even with task killers
