america's tire and manufacturer threadlife warranty question

went to america's tire to see about getting a tire repaired or replaced on my wife's odyssey.

the yokohama trz that i have on the car was making some loud noises and he said that all 4 tires were at the wear bar. The tires was rated for 80k miles and i only got about 45k miles out of them. this is with regular rotations and tire pressure checks.

i was given a partial refund on the tire that could not be fixed but i did not get anything for the other three tires i replaced. should i be getting some prorated portion of the yokohamas? or is my logic totally flawed?

thanks in advance.

It depends on how hard you drive, I have tires rated at 50k but I only get about 30 to 35k out of them because I drive pretty aggressively . ATC is pretty good with taking care of their customers in my experience.

car is not driven hard at all. it's too heavy to be doing any of that anyhow

i am just curious if there is any reimbursement back if it doesn't meet the said thread wear tire threshold.

vehicle weight also determines how many miles you get out of tires.

If all 4 tires were at the wear bar, and you only have 45k on them while the manufacturer warranty was to 80k, I would expect that you should get a pro-rated refund on all 4 of them...

Was the wear on the tires even? If it has toe/camber wear, it will not be prorated. If it had even wear, it should have been prorated on another set of same brand tires, in your case Yokohamas.

I had a Falken Azenis ST-115 spring a slow leak on me two and a half years ago. I brought it in and I told them my issue. They said the tire was too worn out and it needed to be replaced with a brand new one. I told them, "it's a Subaru, I need all 4 tires replaced at the same time." So they just deducted the cost of one tire on my full set. FYI, my tires are rated at 360AA. I'm down to the last 2-3/32 almost 20k later. I should give them a call and ask. One tire pretty bald in the rear passenger side and that particular model is discontinued. -_-
