Amazon allows sellers to commit fraud

So I bought something on Amazon. Amazon allows the seller to email me the next day going thru amazons system the product is sold out sorry.

Its not sold out its relisted for 300 dollars more from the same place, and the scumbags at Amazon wont' do anything.

I guess if internet fraud is no big deal either will me be threatening to cut someones mothers throat over the phone!

That doesnt sound like fraud. That sounds like false advertisement or someone that listed their auction at the wrong price initially. Did they refund your money?

I wouldn't call that fraud. You got your money back.
Someone listed an item wrong, and caught the mistake.

Fraud would be if they kept your money and never shipped the item. Or Shipped a different item

They said its sold out and relisted it for 300 more. That has to violate amazons seller terms at the very least. Amazon doesn't offer the recourse of saying an item is sold out for companies that are too stupid to put the right price, or greedy and realized they can get more based upon demand.

Is it not illegal to advertise a price, sell an item then 3 days later relist it for 300.00 bucks meanwhile telling previous buyers the product is sold out? Pretty sure this qualifies as internet fraud.

They have a lot of cheap items. I guess i'll just buy a dollar item everyday and leave a 1 star review.

You should go research the word "fraud" before you embarrass yourself anymore.

That's not fraud. It's just bad, unprofessional business practice.

Umm... Amazon is rated A+

(Amazon.com Business Review in Seattle, WA - Alaska, Oregon and Western Washington BBB)

From what I gather, there's no fraud here. Just a seller that wants to change the price on something that you wanted to buy. Shady, sure. Fraudulent? Not really.

Remember, The sellers on Amazon =/= Amazon.

you realize BBB is a scam, right?

In 2010 ABC's 20/20 reported in a segment titled "The Best Ratings Money Can Buy" about the irregularities in BBB ratings.[22] They reported that a man created two dummy companies which received A+ ratings as soon as he had paid the membership fee. They also reported that business owners were told that the only way to improve their rating was by paying the fee. In one case a C was turned to an A immediately after a payment and in another case a C‑minus became an A+. Chef Wolfgang Puck said that some of his businesses receive F's because he refuses to pay a fee. Ritz Carlton, which does not belong either, also receives Fs for not responding to its complaints

Clearly in this case I should have checked, I saw amazon+15,000 reviews+4.5 out of 5 stars and I thought thats reputable. Obviously the BBB rating of F is a much more accurate rating. Seems like Amazon is becoming the market for scumbag internet businesses that get in trouble/loose money on Ebay.

My upset here is that Amazon just claims its a third party seller and there is nothing they can do. They have zero ******* and clearly care about businesses not customers. They never step in to do anything or make anything right.

amazon can't force someone to sell something to you anymore than they can force you to buy something... only Uncle Sam has that power.

*yawn*

Amazon has been amazing to me. I've made 2 purchases that were fulfilled by Amazon LLC (meaning Amazon themselves stocked the item) where something was wrong. One was the wrong item and the other one broke during shipping. In neither case did they inconvenience me and make me ship the old item back. They next day'ed me the parts I ordered in both cases.

Newsflash, Amazon is eBay. The difference is that Amazon is product oriented rather than seller/auction oriented.

If you buy something from Amazon, you'll most likely have a good experience. If you buy from one of their third party sellers, it's no different than going to "Buy it now" on eBay.

it sounds like they mistakenly listed a product for a lower price, and because you were not able to capitalize on their mistake, they have committed fraud? you know fraud means they had intent to deceive or misrepresent something for their personal gain. If the vendor took your money and sent a much cheaper product on purpose that would be fraud
