nope, only secondary traffic school (12hrs) you don't get a point i believe, but it is on your record that you went to traffic school and violated whatever CVC you did.

and no, it's not that simple to not break the law. however im willing to pay the consequences for getting caught for doing so.

pay to play =)

heh i was in your situation as well.
I got a speeding ticket like last month, and before that i went to traffic school 8 months prior.
When I got the courtesy letter I was automatically eligible for traffic school.
The court clerk told me over the phone that I could attend traffic school twice in one year, so i guess thats good news for you. I think thier hurting for money, but hey I'm not complaining.

Once you complete traffic school the point will be removed. Make sure you keep the certificate of completion though. You'll need to hold onto it for 3 years I believe.

The schools will say hold onto it for 3 years in the event the courts lose the paper work.

so how come I was not eligible for traffic school when I got a ticket the 17th month after my previous ticket. I went to the courthouse and they said no traffic school. I was also found guilty on the trial by written declaration. So now I have a point.

Cheers

Nick

PS: what is the portion that you fill out to request traffic school?

1) it's every 18 months

2) when u get the ticket in the mail, it should have a portion that says if u qualify for traffic school, you check a box or soetmhing, and pay extra fees for them to extend the case/file to give you time to complete traffic school.

Agreed. I knew about the 18 month thing. But I posted since yungjin said:

I never heard anything twice a year. But maybe the San Jose court is more felixible? Pleasanton told me no school.

On another note I thought traffic school is every 18 months and ony if you do not have a ticket/point? Now that I have a point I would not be eligible to go to traffic school for 3 years (until the ticket goes away?)

Can you guys verify?

Nick

Meh, I can't verify that twice in one year for San Jose traffic court is set in stone, but it's what they told me.

I feel that San Jose is pertty leniant in general toward automotives.
For example I feel very comfortable driving near san jose 5-0, with my decently loud car and have not been harassed for it yet in the three years that i've owned this vehicle. In other cities, however, I make sure to keep my rev's quiet and drive slow, for fear of being pulled over.
