TO almost traded to Redskins

Rumors had it that Owens was going to be traded to the Redskins for some guy named Garner and a 1st and 3rd round draft pick. Redskins didn't want to give up the 1st round pick so the deal didn't go through.

yeah that would be a good trade. Rod Garner is a big WR as well. He will be a great fit for the west coast offense.

too bad it didn't fall thru..But T.O really needs to go!

I don't know why he's dropping all these *****, its not like him.

He's never been one to shy away from taking a huge hit to make a catch, his play this season has been weird.

I've played BBall with him a couple times, he's really a nice guy, and I hope it works out with him and the Niners.

I think the whole experience with Randy Moss humbled him... Now he needs to redefine himself and get his mental game back.

well, he may have redeemed himself yesterday with like 140 yards. in the first half.

did anyone see the lions press conference after their game yesterday? check it.

press: "how do you feel about joey harrington's play today?"
mooch to asst. coach: (quietly) "what was his rating today? 7.1?"
mooch to press: "7.1..." pause, funny look on his face "7.1... that's a big earthquake on the richter scale."
me: ROFLMAO!!

Yeah, it was wierd seeing TO miss all those ***** (two I guess). The one in the endzone was in his hands too. The corner didn't even get his hands on it. That one was surprising as hell as it was a PERFECT pass. They definitely looked like a team yesterday though, which makes me more excited for next week

I think one of the drops they are giving him from yesterday was bunk...that one that was a leaner on the finger tips...I used to be a wide out.....those are damn near impossible to catch.....have to have strong..insanely strong hands and perfect balance on the ball....one hand comes in harder than the other...no catch...one hand higher than the other...no catch.

That is not a drop...

Now the other one....garcias best freaking pass all day probably.....that was a drop....in his belly...in the endzone...that was harsh....

Everyone drops *****...guys that get double covered and still get the ball thrown to them...10-15 times a game get more drops..he isn't doing any worse than anyone else......He'll still finish as one of the top 3-5 wide outs this year...and he'll walk with a huge contract.

wouldn't be surprised to see him weren't orange next year and not talking back to Gruden. Or even on the raiders side line replacing half the raiders retired team.

I like TO...I think his energy is good for the game....I miss the trash talking...enzone dancing we used to get...hard mouth ball.... I like that Sapp kicked a endzone pylon to just say..yeah....fine me...I'm still here and I'm still going be me.

He does need to chill on the public yelling at team mates and coaches though...that can really tear apart a team......

He'll finish the year great....and have a better year next year when he gets out of S.F.

i agree w/ what you just said. No one is doubting TO's ability to make big plays. He's still doing it almost every game. But like you said, TO just needs to chill out on criticizing his own teammates and especially the coach. that was totally disrespectful. if i was the owner of the team, he'd be the first to go because of that. I'd rather have guys who are willing to listen and adjust their mistakes than having a guy bad mouthing teammates and coaches.

I'm glad the trade didn't happen. Rod Gardner sucks. If he was any good, he'd be more productive. Look at Coles. 1st, 3rd and Gardner for a super star. no thanks.

I think Sunday will make TO reevaluate himself and situation. I hope he realizes that everyone has to perform especially him if he talks so much crap. Plus I traded for him in FFL so he better do better. Damn it I want 150yd and 2 TD every game.

I'd take Champ Bailey and a high pick for T.O.
