Almost just stacked my car on the freeway doing 80+

Big left turn sweeper... just started sliding mid turn. Felt like I was hydroplaning. Luckily steering was still effective to some degree.

Nothing like watching first the right guard rail then the left guard rail flying at you while you slide sideways through a full freeway of cars doing 80+, billowing tire smoke all the way. Only to come to a complete stop without hitting anything.

Right rear tire had absolutely zero air in it. Can't find a visible leak, must've deflated over the weekend. First time I've driven it since I got back in town.

Moral of the story: check yer tire pressure often folks.

And big apologies to the blue WRX I gave the wonderful show to.

Dang Huck, did you clean your seats after you shat bricks? Glad you and everything else walked away without a scratch. Thanks for sharing too, as reminders like this are huge as we often take for granted doing checks like this more often than we do.

Good thing the outcome was good and you didnt hit anything. For sure always check the air pressure makes a big difference.

I know, seriously. I pulled off to the side of the road, got out walked around, found the flat tire and just kinda stood there in shock. Absolutely zero damage to anything, in what should've probably been a really solid wreck. Some guy in a Legacy pulled up to see if I needed help and was just as shocked as I that I didn't hit anything or anyone. Then I got back in the car and drove off.

Hell, I may have been doing closer to 100 when I lost it. I've driven that sweeper several hundred times in the last year and hitting it at 100+ is a breeze. Thank you Subaru.

I think I'm gonna run over there tomorrow, pull over, hit the hazards, and take a photo of my skidmarks.

I'm just confused on how you drove to the on ramp w/o knowing you had a flat.

With the big *** tires Huck has on that thing I would't be the least bit shocked if he was driving on a flat and didn't know it.

Glad you're okey dokey, Huck. Next time at the track, we'll work on doing 100 mph slides on purpose. ps, I dig the new tat.

The on ramp is exactly 2 turns away from my gated parking spot. Although the tire looked extremely low, I thought it still had some air in it when I drove back off the freeway. Hell, I drove it to the gas station to put air in afterwards and it still felt stable. It wasn't until I put the air pressure gauge up to it that I realized it had absolutely zero pressure in it.

I guess BF Goodrich makes some good tires.

Or maybe 255's dont really need air in em.
