Is useless unless you have good tire pressure settings and so on. For the street, That is really just not going to happen.
You need a good base alignment spec to start with anyways. Tire temps are the least to worry about on a street car anyways....

I have a 2004 STi with Cobb springs and bars and 9" wheels with 255 tires. These are the settings that Custom Alignment picked for me for performance street use: Front -.7/total ti 1/16"
Rear -1.4/total ti 1/8"
I've used this for about 25,000 miles with no wear issues. They charge $240 and have lots of racing experience.

Most alignment shops that are not subaru specialist or used to enthusiast coming in are going to give you something close to that spec.
It's basically stock specs just a little more aggressive. Most of us would run the complete opposite specs from what you have. I am almost exactly opposite.
The first shop I took my car to put my car at similar to what you have and said they couldn't do it otherwise.... Firestone is one that's like this.
I'd be curious what you would think of your car if you flipped those specs around.
Ai is a specialist and much cheaper. Kraus is cheaper too I think. That's pretty steep for just an alignment. If they didn't install anything and you don't have camber plates and they're charging you that I wouldn't take my car back there. Ever.
I paid $130 for LIFETIME alignments. My custom alignment at Ai was $80. I think when I took it back to go to my winter settings they charged me $60.
They're more expensive these days but $250.... insane.

Edit: I'd be interested in hearing more, especially with you paying that price.

I said that I didn't want camber that would wear the insides of the tires more quickly or not provide maximum grip in the wet, since I like to go out to the back roads and slide around when it's wet. I'm not interested in changing settings as the seasons change. Their settings deliver. They have many endorsements from local racers, and the owner is paid to fly out to ALMS races by a private team. I value their advice.

Ya those sound like close to max settings for an STI with no camber bolts. The rear will usually be more like -2.0 or higher. I was lucky to get -1.0 without camber bolts up front.
Last time I went to Roger Kraus Racing it cost me $150. They took extra time and had to un**** the previous shop's work cause they left off the washers for the camber bolts :|

Custom alignment is a great shop from what I hear and they do great work but they are much more familiar with domestics and primarily RWD cars. RWD. I would take my caddy to them in a heartbeat.
I could say that my buddy has 200 mph patches at the salt flats and has been racing cars for 30 years and I value his advice and it would be true... his advice on my caddy and on information he's experienced with... like building V8's or flatheads or suspension set ups for land speed cars...etc. Would I take his advice on setting up the suspension on my suby... hell no.
But as long as you're happy... rock on. More power to you. Suspension settings are very individual.

When I had my alignment done with camber plates and camber bolts it ran me over $100 but I think it was under $150... I think it was $140 and they tossed the camber bolts in for me... can't remember. That was Ai.
Stock settings on our cars are crazy. I put sedan suspension on my wagon back in the day and I got like -.03 up front after I sold my camber plates. LOL.

I got this at Custom Alignment after telling them I put a heavier sway bar in the rear to help with the understeer. They gave me this setup, assuring me they would help with understeer, however it made the understeer worse. They came highly recommended from people with domestic rear wheel drive cars one of which is a sub 9 second 67 Camaro. I agree with OneManArmy they know their way around domestics and primarily RWD cars. I would not bring my Subaru back to them. I wish I had asked the forum (or just searched around the forum) before going there and paying too much for a setup I do not like.
