Aliens: Ride at the Speed of Fright

Just found this:

"Aliens: Ride at the Speed of Fright"

Supposedly this was "in San Francisco" so I'm guessing a Pier39 attraction?

Anyone actually do this when it was around?

Looks like a crappy low budget version of "Star Tours". Love it!

ZOMG, this brings back so many good memories! This was one of the original Turbo Ride themes at Pier 39 a loooooong time ago. It was this and some sorta Atlantis theme, IIRC, which was good, but the Aliens one was GREAT!!!

Excellent find, thanks for the nostalgia!

Honestly speaking, it is pretty sucky if you don't have nostalgia about the ride.

Oh, I have nostalgia for the ride. I totally remember it. I remember thinking, "that was hella short and sucky."

To be fair, I always thought all of those Turbo Ride themes were all too short. I guess they had to make them like that so people wouldn't yack all over their fancy machine seats.

I ever tell you about the time I got "stuck" on a Turbo Ride for nearly 5 cycles? The movie would jam about a minute before the end, and the tech would apologize and start the whole thing over again. By the third time, people were begging to get off, and by the fifth time, the tech booted out any remaining riders so that they could troubleshoot the thing.

I felt like I was on a boat for the rest of the day, and my cousin stayed in bed for about 15 hours.

I heard about some Alien experience in London where people are "escorted" by the "military" to "escape" an "alien infested compound". Looks like they're bringing it back and updated!

This would never fly in America because some idiot would trip and fall and break his/her leg and sue the pants off the place.
