Alameda Coast Guard Base

Anyone ever go there? They have a pretty nice hobby shop. I used to go there before my ID expired, but haven't been in a while.

Anyone know if you can get on without military ID? I still have mine but it's expired, and it's one of those old school green ones so not exactly up to date looking.

EDIT: Nevermind... found what I was looking for:

I was thinking about stopping by over there to check it out. They should let you on with your DL. They might just tell you to get a vistors pass or just waive you by. Just depends on how the run the security there

Yeah it says you need a sticker or be sponsored, but I always used to just flash my ID and get waved right on. Maybe I'll just try it anyway and see how it goes.

I def. recommend cruising over there if you need a place to work on your stuff and you have a military ID. It's not as nice as some of the hobby shops we had on the bases in Japan, but it's an open space to work on your stuff, and they have tools if you don't have your own, and I think I remember they had at least one lift, but I could be getting mixed up because it's been a couple of years.

Yeah Pendleton had some good shop space for us to work on cars as well. But I will roll by to check out what they have there

Yeah I had to go to Pendleton to get processed out. I remember seeing the hobby shop. It was bigger than the Alameda joint. Are you reserves or something?
