I don't know...theres a lot of speculation of these celebrity black belts when you talk to most jiu jitsu guys.

 

He and my cousin were best friends in college. Al Bundy at a family function is an interesting thing to see.

Im not sure about al bundy, but honestly a lot of celeb bjj blackbelts are a joke. You see mma fighters getting blackbelts in 3-4 years and its like wth?? it took me 2 years to get my blue belt...

and yea, a lot of guys at the academy talk trash about celebs getting belts at a faster rate than everybody else. favoritism is kinda sewed into the system.
i trained under Ralph Gracie and i raped blue belts when i was a white. These days its getting easy to up a belt especially if you suck up.

fyi: white - blue - purple - brown - black.

 

Which Ralph academy did you train at?

Anything involving Rorion Gracie is suspect from the word go. Rorion is who Ed O'Neil got his black from.

Rikki Rockett got his from Renato Magno so his might be more 'legit'.

But, I think any of these celebs get 'graded' at a different level than anyone else, look at that schmuck 90210 doctor who has his show. Rorion's sons gave him his blue and he looked like a 2 month white belt, absolute disgrace. But, hey, Rorion got his academy mentioned on the E! network.

Throw these celeb black belts in against Braga Neto, Xande Ribeiro or Roger Gracie and we'll see how legit they are.

 

Ya know, titles like that are pretty common here on I-club. What isn't common, is when they are not a joke
