Advice on ticket
So i just got home after driving back from college in SD and on the way back, right before the fresno county line i got my first ticket. I was traveling at about 85 with the cruise control on when i spotted the car in the distance in the opposite lane. I slowed to about 80 and continued on. But as soon as i looked in my mirror i saw that he had cut across the middle and i knew it was for me. So he tells me he clocked me at 93 which is crazy but he said he was gonna go easy on me and wrote down 80(speed limit is 70). My question is this: What should be my course of action for the ticket? Should i use ticket assassin? contest it myself? or what?
Umm pay it? What grounds are you going to contest it on? You just admitted to going "about" 85, then slowing to 80 in a posted 70.
I guess you can try to get a court date and hope he doesn't show, but if he does you're SOL.

why would you fight it
when you speed, you KNOW your breaking the law.
Your intent to break it was there. Thats a whole different ballgame than missing a stopsign or something stupid.

people might flame me for this...
but if he claims that he "clocked" you at 93, and you state that you were going no more than "85" i dont see how he actually determined your speed?
either he didn't "clock" you right, or you aren't telling us the truth. Because reading on a lot of stuff, i thought cops had 2 ways to clock you, which was using radar (where he had to be standing still), or he had to be pacing you. I would still contest the ticket...and have the officer state how he caught you speeding.
I"ve had my fair share of harrassment when i'm in my subaru, where cops tell me i'm speeding, but the moment i asked them how fast was i going, or oh really? they seem to back off and play nice cops by saying "i'll let you go this time with just a warning". yeah right.....

i think most cops get like triple pay for showing up at those court dates.. my friends dad said when he goes in for em, thats his whole days shift and it usually takes 30mins..

1) If you're going to be traveling up 5 more often, invest in a radar detector. I drive 5 over 6 times a year, and my V1 always tells me atleast a mile in advance of when a CHP is either coming from the front or the back.
2) Ticket Assassin just tells you to do a trial by declaration. Probably would be a good course of action since I'm guessing the Fresno line is a bit far of a drive for a court date. Otherwise, just accept you were speeding and take the ticket and do traffic school.

i dont think the police have to be standing still to use laser now.... but im not sure... but ya, just pay it. not worth trying to fight it as u have no proof u weren't speeding, and u just admitted that u were speeding.
