Aaaaaaahhhhhhh it's cold!!!

Where's some more rain, this is driving me up the wall. At least the rain keeps the temps reasonable. Wife spends the afternoon until now with the heater running and this huge hole of a house is only 61 degrees.

Go to the sink at the farthest end of your water lines, turn it on to drip very slowly overnight, no frozen pipes.

Blows me away that people don't know this stuff.

Or go buy a water pipe heating cable to wrap around any exposed piping outdoors to keep it from freezing. They do the trick.

Couldn't agree more. I had to tell my coworker to do this. She said, what about the hose connections?

I had to do some work rebuilding the main shut off valve on the water main this summer. Pulled all the tape off the PVC piping. So I've been leaving a sink to drip and I have a toilet that runs so I haven't bothered fixing that yet until the temps warm up.

45 in my house right now in Fremont. All single pane windows in this rental house.

I've starting sealing up clear bubble wrap on the large windows as well as cardboard & sheets on the sliding doors... still cold!!
